Birthday Cake

15 Mar

bday-7Since I made one birthday card, I couldn’t resist making few more, especially that I had all the relevant supplies pulled out. I went for a bit of rustic look and this card was later given to my coworker.

Just a note

31 Aug

justanoteThis card was inspired by a one I found in the depths of Pinterest. It gave me a chance to finally try out my super-big stack of corresponding papers – out of from various palettes with musical notes, I decided in the end to go with browns. So, what do you think?

Warm Goodbye

27 Jul

A time came to make yet another goodbye card. I wanted this one to be special, so I took time thinking of what I want to do and how I want to do it. My coworker loves pink and at first I thought I’d make a pink card, but I couldn’t pick a shade that would appeal to me and give me inspiration. Quite to the contrary, I felt like I wanted something in warm browns with a bit of yellow and gold.

Then, browsing through the net, I came acroos another Szuflada’s Gold&Vintage challenge: this time they were encouraging users to make a vintage card with a gold element and this finally got the cogs turning! It took me two evenings to finish this card, but I think it was totally worth the effort and time, don’t you?

The buttons I made myself, using the same paper you can see on the side – I wanted to add a little bit of contrast to the card. I also decided to add bigger buttons at the bottom to break a bit a monotony of this simetrical cards. Those buttons were fun to make and I can’t believe I haven’t used this technique before!

And in the end I couldn’t resist little joke and added a little piece inside the card:

So that there still was some pink in the end…

Birthday Cupcake

30 Jun

bday7A quick a simple card to make, using corresponding patterned papers and a cupcake sticker. With a bit of shiny stones to enhance the picture.

Can be a cute present for a little or not-so-little girl.

Irish Goodbye

17 Jun

bye19Another Good-bye card for a co-worker – since she was leaving Ireland, I though some sheep would be in place. Especially when I found a sheep-patterned paper while browsing through my resources. All that was left was to make a big sheep and add a bit of sparkle to the card: I recently re-discovered nice mosaic stones (again, browsing through resources occassionally makes some treasure resurface) that you can see in the picture, so I sure will use them again.

Saying “goodbye” once again

13 Apr

Another card for a leaving coworker. The picture’s quality is not the best, but the “We will miss you” in the middle square was quite visible on the card.

Not much story behind it, though it was made in a slightly different way than I usually make my cards. After each card there are scraps and leftovers, and also some elements that I decided not to use for some reason. I never throw them away, and whenever I’m in need of inspiration, I look through the box. And this is what I did this time – I found a bit that gave me an idea for the whole card.

Spring Faerie

28 Feb

springfaerieThis is the first time I decided to take part in a “challenge” – making a card with a given theme or colour pallette. The particular challenge, “Wyzwanie Szuflady” from a Polish website, encouraged crafters to use a very interesting colour set – green, brown and pink. I have to say that green and brown was an easy one, but I had trouble with pink… In the end I decided on matching stones that lightened up this spring like card.

Journey Farewell

10 Feb

After holidays, moving flats and waiting for the Internet, CoreCards is finally back and catching up. This is a good-bye card made for my co-worker. As he was considering leaving not only us, but also the country, he got a map on his card…

This card too ages to make, as the hand-cut letters were embellished with brads, and then stuck onto rather thin pieces of paper that was fixed to the card with foam pads. But I think the effect was tottaly worth the pain!

Autumn Sentiments

10 Nov

Coming back to autumn themes, as I was asked to make a card with no text. I really like the gold and brown colour mixture, and I also find it universal enough to serve multiple purposes.

Autumn With Love

8 Oct

Indecisive as I am, I can’t make up my mind about whether to make some Halloween cards (with Halloween being just around the corner) or start preparing for soon-to-come Christmas, which always catches me panicking that I don’t have enough Christmas cards.

So, since I can’t decide, I just keep on making Autumn cards. This one – with love! Still working with browns and gold, a simple card that took few moments to finish. Patterned paper, a bit of vellum, ribbons, adhesive stones and a sticker.

New camera, which I am still learning to use and a very gloomy day with little daylight do not give justice to this warm-brown, elegant card.

Card available.
